Fossil Day

On October 17, celebrate National Fossil Day at the Museum!  Join the Protectors of Tule Springs and the Las Vegas Natural History Museum as we celebrate fossil discovery in Southern Nevada.

Participate in activities by making fossil impressions, excavating rocks, and creating fossil stories.  See science in action as students and paleontologists prepare, clean and repair fossils collected right here in Southern Nevada. Discover horseshoe crabs in a hands on experience with some of Earth’s oldest surviving critters, and meet representatives from Protectors of Tule Springs and Nevada Friends of Paleontology.

Event runs from 10:00am - 3:00pm.
