About the Event
Celebrate Shark Week with A Shark is Born! Sharks are often called “living fossils” because their ancestors have been swimming in Earth’s oceans for hundreds of millions of years—but how does a shark begin its life? In this hands-on program, guests will learn about shark pups and the different ways sharks reproduce, get a close look at shark eggs, and explore what makes these incredible animals so well adapted for survival.
To wrap up the experience, participants will recreate their own “mermaid purse” (a shark egg case) craft to take home—perfect for sparking more ocean curiosity long after your visit.
Recommended for all ages.
Included with museum admission or membership. Supplies are limited; first come, first served.
