Making an impact in the Southern Nevada community is a meaningful and memorable experience when you volunteer at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum (LVNHM)!
LVNHM has over 500 volunteers that contribute to the museum in many ways. Volunteers can help with tours, events, husbandry, taxidermy, education, birthday parties, and more!
"As an archaeologist I was interested in finding a project that involved artifact analysis from badly underreported site collections available in the Museum's storage annex. The staff, especially in the collections and curations department, welcomed me with open arms and provided me with a space to work with all of the collections. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and look forward to many years of fruitful collaboration with the museum."

"In the year that I have been with this museum, they have been nothing but kind and supportive. The learning opportunities and community connection is unmatched anywhere else. The staff really wants to see you have fun and grow -- even offering to train you on skills like husbandry after you hit a certain number of hours. I love the museum and everyone here!"

"I used to go there all the time when I was a kid, and the summer before I left for college I volunteered there. Everyone who works there is so kind and knowledgeable. They treat me better as a volunteer than any paying job I've ever had by far. I learned so much, made friends, got practical work experience, and prepared for my future, all in a place that means so much to me. Volunteering there was one of the best experiences of my life, and I wish it was more talked about in the community!"

"I started volunteering after my husband passed and I now consider the staff and volunteers to be my second family. My favorite duty is helping on weekends with birthday parties and watching the kids as they tour the Museum. I also love their excitement when doing "critter connection" where they bring out live animals for the kids to pet. Bottom line, I absolutely love it and will continue volunteering as long as I can!"

"I began interning with LVNHM a month ago and in that time I could describe it as nothing short of amazing. The team members make it a positive work environment and I love being able to learn something new every day I go to work. As someone who is doing their best to make a career in museum work, I'm proud that this museum is where I'm getting my start."
