About the Event
Join us for a special workshop by Grupo Literaio Comala highlighting the “eyes of god” (Ojo de Dios), a beautiful and colorful symbolic ornament of the Wixárika culture. Discover how these vibrant creations are made with yarn, fabric, and wooden sticks to represent the four cardinal points and the five sacred places of the Wixárika people. Learn about the ornament’s meaning as a symbol of protection and its importance in Wixárika beliefs. This hands-on event is presented in both English and Spanish, and all participants will get to craft their own “eyes of god” to take home.
