About the Event

Invent solutions that make a difference in STEAM Challenge: Designing Assistive Device Prototypes! Participants will learn about Bessie Blount Griffin, a pioneering inventor and physical therapist who created devices to help people with everyday tasks. Inspired by her work, students will brainstorm ideas, build mini prototypes using simple materials, and test their designs in this hands-on challenge. This program encourages creativity, problem-solving, and empathy while highlighting the impact of assistive technology.


Recommended for ages 6 and up.


Included with museum admission or membership. Supplies are limited; first come, first served.


Achievement Awards are generously offered by one of the newest Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers locations, which is also located the closest to the museum on Fremont and Eastern, 2231 East Fremont Street.
