About the Event
Get an up-close look at one of nature’s most important recyclers in Earthworm Anatomy Lab (or your preferred title)! In this guided dissection, participants will explore the internal and external anatomy of earthworms—fascinating invertebrates that have been around far longer than dinosaurs and play a major role in keeping soils healthy. Along the way, we’ll connect what you’re seeing to real-world ecology, including how earthworms help aerate soil and support plant growth.
This program is designed to be educational, respectful, and beginner-friendly, with museum educators guiding participants step-by-step through observations and key anatomy features.
Recommended for ages 8 and up.
Included with museum admission or membership. Supplies are limited; first come, first served.
Worm specimens sourced from Carolina Biological Supply Company.
