About the Event
Step into the role of an Ancient Egyptian scribe in Color Chemistry Along the Nile—a creative workshop that blends history, chemistry, and artistry. Participants will explore the chemical reactions that make paint work, then mix up a batch of their own historically accurate, Egyptian-inspired paints using safe, hands-on methods. Once your pigments are ready, you’ll use them to decorate a cartouche—an Ancient Egyptian name plate—creating a personalized piece of art to take home.
This program is perfect for families, teens, and adults who love making, learning, and getting a little messy while connecting science to the ancient world.
Suitable for ages 8–800.
Included with museum admission or membership. Supplies are limited; first come, first served.
