About the Event
Join us for the grand opening of the Engelstad Foundation Traveling Exhibition Series: Art & Science of Arachnids! This immersive exhibit invites guests of all ages to discover the fascinating world of spiders, scorpions, and their relatives through a blend of hands-on activities, live animal encounters, and creative exploration.
Explore how arachnids are portrayed in art, film, and literature—and see how these stories connect to real-world biology. Observe live arachnids and engage with our animal-trained educators to learn about their anatomy, behaviors, growth, and defense strategies. Throughout the day, guests can weave spider webs inspired by real web patterns, explore the unique properties of arachnid silk, investigate prehistoric arachnids through fossils, examine molts, and create arachnid-inspired art.
Art & Science of Arachnids encourages curiosity, conversation, and a deeper connection between imagination and science.
Included with museum admission or membership. All ages welcome.
