Step behind the scenes of movie magic in Making Monsters with Julia Hapney! In this hands-on, kid-friendly workshop, award-winning special effects make-up artist Julia Hapney will share highlights from her 22 years of experience bringing monsters to life for the stage and screen. Guests will learn the creative process behind building a believable creature—from early ideas and design choices to materials, texture, and finishing details.
Participants will also get to explore real-life props up close before creating their own monster using foam clay. Whether you love spooky stories, art, or film, this workshop is a fun way to learn how “scary” effects are made—without being too scary.
Workshop suitable for children ages 7 and up.
Included with museum admission or membership. Supplies are limited; first come, first served.
