About the Event
Owl Pellet Autopsy invites guests to investigate what owls eat by examining real owl pellets—compact bundles of fur and bones that owls regurgitate after a meal. Participants will carefully dissect a pellet, sort and analyze the contents, and use observation skills to identify the rodent remains inside.
Along the way, you’ll learn how predators fit into food webs and how scientists use clues like bones and teeth to understand animal diets and ecosystems. It’s a hands-on, inquiry-based activity that’s equal parts biology lab and mystery-solving.
Included with museum admission or membership. Supplies are limited; first come, first served.
