As part of our Woven Throughout History workshop series, join Aleida Castro to explore the cultural history of textiles by recreating traditional Charro embroidery patterns. Using paper and fabric scraps, guests will design a 4”x6” make-and-take art print inspired by examples of Charro suits.

About the Event
Woven Throughout History: Charro Embroidery with Aleida Castro is part of our ongoing workshop series highlighting the cultural history of textiles and the stories they carry. In this drop-in, make-and-take program, participants will explore traditional Charro patterns inspired by the decorative embroidery found on Charro suits. Examples will be available as visual guides to help guests observe motifs, shapes, and design details.
Using paper and fabric scraps, guests will recreate these patterns by cutting fabric pieces and layering them onto a paper base to create a 4”x6” art print to take home. This workshop is open to all ages and encourages creativity, cultural curiosity, and hands-on making—no prior experience required.
Recommended for all ages.
Included with museum admission or membership. Supplies are limited; first come, first served.
