Intern Confidentiality Agreement

This Non-Disclosure Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into by the undersigned Intern (“Intern”) and the Las Vegas Natural History Museum (“Internship Program”), located at 900 Las Vegas Blvd N., Las Vegas, Nevada. Collectively, the Intern and the Internship Program are referred to as the “Parties.”

I. Confidential Information

All data, materials, knowledge, and proprietary information generated through, originating from, or related to the Internship Program or persons associated with its activities (including contractors) is considered Confidential Information and must not be disclosed to any outside party. This includes, but is not limited to, documents, information, designs, printed matter, policies, procedures, conversations, messages (received or transmitted), resources, contacts, e-mail lists, and e-mail messages, whether internally between staff or outside the Internship Program. All such information is confidential and is the sole property of the Las Vegas Natural History Museum and all public, private, and government entities associated with museum projects.

II. Information Sensitivity

As an intern, you may use a museum-owned computer and have access to sensitive information.

  • You are required to keep all sensitive and confidential information safe, including (but not limited to) institutional information, documents, and location information of paleontological, archaeological, or cultural sites, following all applicable laws (including, but not limited to, the Privacy Act, ARPA, and NAGPRA).

III. Copyrights

  • All documents, copyrights, photographs, projects, and/or exhibit designs that you create or have access to during your internship belong to the Las Vegas Natural History Museum.

  • You will receive credit for your completed work; however, the Museum will be considered the owner of all work created while performing your internship duties.

  • All drafts, documents, notes, and work must be turned over to the Curators upon completion of each project.

IV. Contributions

The Museum is a state and federal repository for paleontological and archaeological materials collected on public and private lands, preserving hundreds of thousands of artifacts and fossils from southern Nevada. Your internship contributes to the State of Nevada and the surrounding community by participating in projects that ensure the long-term preservation and interpretation of Nevada’s natural and cultural history.

V. Clients

Client information, including all file information, must not be disclosed to any third party under any circumstances without the written consent of the Museum.

VI. Damages

Any disclosure, misuse, copying, or transmission of any material, data, or information—whether intentional or unintentional—will subject you to disciplinary action, prosecution, and/or monetary damages according to Museum procedures and any applicable laws.
