Cox Charities, the philanthropic arm of Cox Communications in Las Vegas, presented $97,000 in grants to 26 local nonprofit organizations on Wed., August 21.
Cox also presented $20,000 in “surprise” grants to longtime nonprofit partners The Animal Foundation, Las Vegas Natural History Museum, Las Vegas Philharmonic and Salvation Army who each received $5,000. Collectively, Cox Charities has awarded more than $2 million to local nonprofits over the past 12 years.
“We’re exceptionally proud to support local nonprofits whose mission is to serve children/families, education/STEAM programs, diversity and the environment,” said Michael F. Bolognini, market vice president and leader. “What is even more exceptional is the fact that these grants are funded entirely by employee donations.”
Employees of Cox Communications, Cox Business and Cox Media presented the 2019 Cox Charities grants during a bi-annual employee gathering that celebrates Cox employees’ commitment to caring for the Las Vegas community through charitable giving.
