The Las Vegas Science & Natural History Museum today announced that it has joined Museums for All, a signature access program of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), administered by the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM). This national initiative encourages people of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum-going habits by reducing financial barriers to entry. Participation in Museums for All at the Las Vegas Science & Natural History Museum will go into effect on December 1.
Through Museums for All, individuals and families receiving food assistance (SNAP) benefits can visit the Las Vegas Science & Natural History Museum for a discounted admission rate of $5 per person, for up to four people, with the presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card. This new pricing option complements the museum’s existing admission structure and underscores its commitment to making high-quality science and natural history learning experiences accessible to the entire Southern Nevada community.
The launch of Museums for All at the Las Vegas Science & Natural History Museum comes just in time for the museum’s annual holiday exhibition, A December to Remember: Celebrating Culture & Community. This six-week, museum-curated, community-created experience features cultural displays, performances, and hands-on Winter Science activities that highlight how Southern Nevada communities honor the season. With the added accessibility of Museums for All, more families can take part in these celebrations and explore the museum together.
Museums for All helps expand access to museums while raising public awareness about how institutions across the United States are working to serve their full communities. More than 850 museums participate in the initiative, including art museums, children’s museums, science centers, botanical gardens, zoos, history museums, and more. Participating museums are located nationwide, representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
